Wallpaper floating around my head

To be honest with you I was never really fond on wallpaper but recently I have been challenging myself to try and use it more often.  In doing this I have found that there are A LOT of not so nice wallpapers out there (sorry wallpaper designers) but there are even more really fun and mural-like wallpapers that work well for accent walls.  I found a bunch at http://www.funkywallpaper.net/.  Here are some of my favorites.  Warning: remember my brain likes to bounce around a lot!

Waterfall Wallpaper

Man I can just imagine relaxing in a bed or chair and just staring at the this wall for hours.

Nascar Wallpaper

This one caught my eye because as any good country girl knows, NASCAR is the best sport around.
(It's Bristol baby!)
Anyway I think this might be good in a Man Cave or maybe on a smaller scale in a kid's room.

Childrens Truck Wallpaper

As I was browsing through the car section of this website I found this awesome kid truck wall paper.  It is so bright and playful that it would catch the kids eye and help them learn colors.

Keep in mind that this will only be a temporary design because sadly the little boy you might have now will eventually turn into a teen that will want a more grown up space.

Beluga Whales Wallpaper

Another honesty moment... I would be scared if I had this wall in my house.  What would I be scared of you ask... The beluga whales eating me.  I know its impossible but I don't like having people looking over my shoulder.  Anyway  this particular wallpaper would have to have the perfect space to work well.  I would probably keep all of the furniture low key so this could be the focal point.

Big Ben Wallpaper

Another fascination this country girl has is the city (even though I don't want to live there, I do like to visit)
For this wallpaper I can see it in a teen's room that is really into fashion or the city.  I think I would probably but the bed where the sofa is so that she could sleep and dream where she wanted to be.

P.S.  all pictures came from the the link at the beginning.

Blogs that Inspire Me

Little Green Notebook is one of the first blogs that I came across and it made a friendly impression on me.  Jenny Kromenda seems to be just a country inspired girl living in Manhattan.  From one purely country girl to the next, I like the idea that she is bringing some shiny city style into my life.  In a recent post she introduced people on revitalizing old furniture.

Reupholstering furniture is one of my favorite things to do when a space is just dying for an update or a piece of furniture calling for a new spark of life.  For the frugal country girl hollering to save money, buying a fantastic fabric is a heck of a lot better than getting rid of my favorite chair that I may have shower too much love on... oops... sorry chair.

The next blog that I found probably isn't technically a blog, but the country part of me just isn't that concerned with the schematics, just that I really dug this site and I wanted to share it with you.

Inhabitat is a website so focused on green design that it turned green itself.  Even though green design may not always be the most inexpensive, it does ALWAYS help mother earth, and with out her, you and me both wouldn't be here.  Though this is really modern... it uses what mother earth gives us to its highest advantage.

Another fun fact about me that often causes me some trouble is my scatterbrained noggin.  At Desire to Inspire Jo and Kim indulge my crazy zig-zag brain waves by bouncing from one ispiring thing to the next.  Recently there have been posts ranging from chocolate covered skulls (I know... that is even a little strange for this crazy country chick) to a  weird space, as they call it.  This weird space is really an entry under the stairs that they have changed into an excited area to look at and be in.

This pic comes from comes a blog called the Style Files.  Before I get into the blog itself, I can't help but be distracted by these awesome country chair that look like my dad or boyfriend made them for me. (That is a compliment by the way) I love the fact that they are not all one solid color and the paint that is on it isn't perfect.  Okay, I'm done with my rant now... on to the blog itself.  This blog is based in the Netherlands (to be honest with everyone... not exactly sure where the Netherlands are but they seem a little country so I like them.)  This blog just makes me want to go on vacation, but it also inspires me to add a little bit of beach into my designs.
Here is the Dutch version of a country barn... hmmm... seems country folk are the same no matter where they live.  Can I get a Yee Haw!

Now for the last but certainly not the last blog from your country gal.  Remodelista is a site that offers opinions and finds from multiple different women who all seem to have their own styles.  Now in the country we always appreciate the others opinions and ideas... and boy do I appreciate theirs.  In one post by Sarah (nice name), she found a new dining table idea that I had never thought of.  And boy was it right up my alley,  lets bring the picnic inside, instead of letting the silly rain ruin the fun.
